Yes. Please be aware that if you choose to BYO, we cannot ensure VoIP functionality or device security. Moreover, we will only be able to provide limited support with modem setup and technical troubleshooting.
Naked DSL is an internet service that isn’t tied to a landline phone service, meaning you’re free from paying monthly phone line rental! It still connects using the copper phone line, but instead of a traditional landline phone.
It’s a phone service that works over your internet connection. Instead of plugging a phone handset into the wall, you’ll plug it into a VoIP-enabled modem to enjoy some serious savings on your call rates!
No, it will take another couple of days to activate your account after the physical connection has been completed. We will notify you through SMS & email as soon as your Naked DSL service is ready to use - then all you'll need to do is plug in your modem and get ready to surf the net!
The connection process takes about 14 to 20 days working days from the time of application, but if your current broadband provider is utilizing the same broadband infrastructure as Fibre2air, we may transfer your service over usually in less than 3 working days. Due to the complex nature of the process, we cannot give an absolute guarantee of the time-frame
During the processing of you application, we will email you with all relevant developments, including order acceptance, an estimated connection date, and when your service is ready to use. If you purchased hardware, you will also receive a shipping confirmation email.
Naked DSL offers speeds as fast as your line can go, up to 20 000kbps. Below is a list of the different factors that impact on broadband speeds:
  • the distance you are from your local exchange
  • the quality of your line, type or diameter of copper wires used
  • the number of joints and wirings to your home
  • Others factor within your home such as lengthy phone cords.
Yes. Any service that relies on a landline phone service with a dial tone will no longer work when you have Naked DSL. This includes:
  • Priority Assistance phone services
  • Fax machines
  • EFTPOS or vending machines
  • Back-to-base VPN
  • Monitored security alarms
  • Dial-up security cameras
Digital Pay TV (excluding Fetch) might also be affected if you switch to Naked DSL – please consult your Pay TV provider to find out if Naked DSL will support your TV services.
If your landline phone number is provided by iiNet or our wholesaler, we may be able to convert your number into a VoIP number. We can check this for you when you sign up – just give our Sales team on 1300 234 273.
